2. What supporting documents do I need to attach for my application?
Home (Residential Application)
- streamyx Application Form
- A copy of IC (both sides, please cross your IC before sending it to us.)
- A copy of the latest telephone bill (Telephone line used to connect streamyx)
- Lampiran A and B for applicant who is not the phone line owner.
- A copy of telephone line owner's IC.

Sole Proprietor/Partnership (Business Application)
- streamyx Application Form.
- A copy of IC (both sides, please cross the IC before sending it to us.)
- A copy of the latest telephone bill.
- A copy of form A, B or D of the company.

Private/Public Limited Company (Business Application)
- streamyx Application Form.
- A copy of IC (both sides, please cross the IC before sending it to us.)
- A copy of the latest telephone bill.
- A copy of form 9 and 49, 24 or 13 of the company.

Foreign Incorporated Company (Business Application)

3. How long do I need to wait for my stramyx?
There are two portions in your ADSL "streamyx" line set-up procedure. Its total cycle time can be from 2 weeks to few months!

Part 1: Checking your phone line suitability for ADSL high-speed internet access.
Generally, (1) You must have copper phone line to your premise. (2) Located within 5 Km distance from the nearest TM's ADSL center. TM's technical personnel will visit your premise to check your phone line quality. If your line integrity passed, TM will process your application for streamyx account. You will be given an account ID and password. If your line integrity is rejected, TM will not charging you any fee.

Part 2: Modem installation.
Your account need to be activated before ADSL modem installation can be performed. Depending on which package you are ordering, this modem installation step can be performed by yourself or reseller or third-party contractors.

4. Do I need to pay for telephone bills after subscribing to TM streamyx?
The answer is YES and NO. Let's breakdown telephone bills into three items.
(1) Monthly phone line rental fee
(2) Normal charges for phone calls or faxing.
(3) Telephone connection fees to Internet access. Currently you need to pay 1.5 sen for each minute in your Jaring (1511) or TM dial-up account (1515).

You still need to pay for item (1) and (2), but not for item (3) in using TM ADSL streamyx service.

5. Can I apply for TM streamyx if the phone line is owned by someone else?
Yes. You can now apply for TM streamyx even you are not the legal owner of the telephone line under these below circumstances.
- It's only applicable to installation at residential address or home applicant.
- Get the telephone line owner's authorization by filing "lampiran A"
- The applicant must complete and sign a consent letter as in "lampiran B".

6. What Is unlimited access in RM 88 package?
You can log on 24 hours non-stop for your Internet surfing, ICQing, online gaming, online shopping, e-learning etc by just paying RM88 per month (bill multimedia). This is equivalent to 12.24 sen per hour! No more separate billing for Internet access on your telephone bill.

1. What is TM streamyx?
TM streamyx is a broadband internet access via xDSL technology.

2. What are the technologies used?
The technology used for TM streamyx is xDSL. xDSL types chosen to support TM streamyx network are ADSL and SDSL technologies.

3. How fast is TM streamyx?
The packages range from 384kbps up to 2Mbps Internet access speeds and its on a best effort basis and copper quality.

4. How to subscribe TM streamyx?
You can either download the application form and print it our with your printer. Then post it or fax it to us.

5. How much do I have to pay?
One time (RM125) registration, installation and activation charges for Home packages (this will be included in the first bill) and monthly charges according to the package chosen. Please see Packages.

6. Where do I pay my TM streamyx bill?
You can pay your bill at House of Internet, the nearest Kedai Telekom or Proxus Internet service centre.

7. Can I resell the services?
No.

8. What happens if somebody calls me while I'm accessing the Internet?
You answer the call as a normal telephone call. The Internet access service will not be interrupted. The above condition is applicable for ADSL subscribers only. SDSL do not support telephony.

9. What is the TM streamyx minimum subscription period?
You have to subscribe TM streamyx service For minimum period of 1 (ONE) year. If you terminate your account within the Minimum Subscription Period, you shall be responsible for fees chargeable for the service on the remainder of the Minimum Subscription Period.

10. Can I have more than one TM streamyx connection to my premise?
Yes, as long as you have an extra telephone line.

11. What are the differences between ADSL and SDSL?
ADSL stands for Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line. It allows you to simultaneously access the Internet and use the phone or fax (at the same time). SDSL stands for Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line. The difference between ADSL and SDSL is that SDSL offers the customer symmetric bandwidth upstream and downstream to a customer (eg. 1.5Mbps SDSL streamyx packages offers the customer 1.5Mbps downstream speed as well as 1.5Mbps upstream speed). Technologically, SDSL does not allow voice/fax (PSTN) over the same copper.

12. What are the differences between xDSL connection and Dial-up connection?
xDSL does not dial to the public switch telephone exchange , it connects the customer directly to the Internet. Dial-up modem can be used at any premises to log on to TM.

13. What are the differences between xDSL technology and ISDN?
ISDN allows you to have many different digital features, such as PABX and digital fax. ISDN requires you to have a special telephone line, while xDSL does not. Bandwidth for xDSL can be higher than ISDN. xDSL is an always on service while ISDN is a dial up service.

14. What are the differences between xDSL and Leased Line?
Leased Line could lets users connect from point to point with no restrictions to the distance, thus having better security. The service could provides from 64kbps to 2Mbps bandwidths. streamyx provides a 2Mbps maximum download and 384kbps upload. streamyx is however easier to install at the customer premises. streamyx is categorized as best effort service while leased line is premier or guaranteed bandwidth service.

15. What do I need to use TM streamyx?
For Windows OS computers, you need to have a PC with a Pentium processor and 32MB RAM. Windows 95 (Windows 98 is preferred) or, Windows XP or Windows NT operating system, 2.1GB Hard Disk (20MB of free hard disk space) and Network Interface Card (NIC).

For MAC OS computers you need to have a Power PC Macintosh with system 7.6.1 or later, 32 MB RAM, 10 MB Hardisk, Ethernet port, Mac OS X version 10.1.2 or above. (Note: Lower versions are not supported at the moment). Also of course, you need to have a telephone line to connect to the TM streamyx Modem.

16. Do I need a special modem?
You will need to have an ADSL modem. Proxus Communications is an authorised reseller for Aztech ADSL modems. Customer also have the option of renting modem from Telekom if they choose the Home 111 package.

17. If I do not have a telephone line, how do I subscribe to TM streamyx?
You need to install a phone line before you can enjoy the service. (The above condition applies for TM streamyx ADSL packages only)

18. Do I need a new telephone line?
For TM streamyx ADSL you may use your existing telephone line. For TM streamyx SDSL, you need a new copper line (TM personnel will apply for you upon application of the service).

19. Do I need additional wiring at my house / office?
You need to have some simple wiring.

20. Do I need to install a network card?
Yes. You need the Network Interface Card (NIC) in order for your PC to communicate with the modem.
